Thank you for showing interest in completing your Student Learning Hours

 at The Battered Women's Shelter!

We have received numerous calls from Akron University and Kent State students inquiring about fulfilling class requirements by volunteering at our organization for under 15 hours.

Although we welcome volunteers, we are unable to assist students needing to fulfill these requirements. Before volunteering at the agency, 20 hours of training and a background check must be completed. Therefore, students who need 10 hours of service will have completed their requirement before entering the shelter doors.

If you consider volunteering with us for longer than your services hours, please complete an application and submit it today! If not, we consider contacting another agency on your service provider list.
