TRANSFORMING A NURSING HOME INTO A HEALING HOME.
In 2012, the Battered Women's Shelter acquired the former Middlebury Manor Nursing home on East Market Street. Phase I renovations, which encompassed 10,000 square feetof the facility, have been completed. The space features beautiful, functional offices for our community-based programs and services as well as our administrative staff.
As we move to Phase II, we look to open up the remainder of the 40,000 square-foot building for those needing residential services.
The Phase II renovation will include:
- 41 private suites with private baths
- Commercial-sized kitchen
- Community common areas
- Designated areas for job counseling,
- Computer training and other important services
- Clothing bank
- Image enhancement services
- Exterior upgrades
